Making Soap is a Chemical Process
Did you know that most soaps that you buy at the store, are not soaps at all, but
detergents?
Soaps, unlike detergents, are made by combining lye (also known as sodium hydroxide), animal fats and/or vegetable oils and
water in a process known as saponification.
Detergents, on the other hand, contain petroleum
distillates rather than fats or oils. Our soaps contain only the finest ingredients including pure rainwater and organic goats milk. We use the cold process method in which saponification takes several days to complete, and glycerin (a soothing skin emollient and a natural byproduct of saponification), remains
in the finished soap, whereas, most commercial bars have had the glycerin removed.
